BLOG: # 151: RETIREMENT: IN IT; STILL WORKING AT IT !!! (Part 32) (M)

This year, the grand year of 2020, on the day of my Birthday, this coming April, on the twentieth, because I chose that day to retire instead of on the first, second, third, fifth, or thirtieth, but my Birthday, I will have been in full retirement with full benefits for FIVE YEARS! Isn’t that something!

FIVE YEARS ALREADY!

Five years in and I am still working at it. It isn’t easy being RETIRED you know. I know. It sounds like fun, that you don’t have to work anymore or get up early to go to a job, you can sleep in as much as you please. Sounds great, yeah? You can go out anytime you want and have fun. Okay.

This I admit, is all well and good — BUT — the reason I am still working at being retired — and you will have to do this too when your time comes to leave the work force and retire — you will have live on a FIXED INCOME like me and maybe have to move to a smaller place with a LOWER RENT. This exact thing is what I am going through right now as part of retiring. And I know that everything will turn out good. I can stay here but if I can move to SENIOR HOUSING with a lower rent (I pay $850.00 a month for my Unit #7 right now and just the other day, because of Maintenance Fees going up, my rent was supposed to go up to $900.00 a month but so far, I never got a letter saying so.), that will be super great. (When I lived upstairs in my old place I only paid $420.00 a month for rent.).

This is the trouble with month to month lease in comparison to yearly ones. With month to month leases like the one I have, my new land lord can raise my rent any time he wants. If you are on a yearly lease, he can not do that, so I am taking my chances and for now, I guess I will have to do just that. Just another part of being retired.

If I get to the Senior Housing, I am going for the yearly lease if those people have such a thing. And I
HOPE they let me in. And YES, they know about BABY PAWS already. When I was filling out the paper work I told the people I had a cat.

So, is being RETIRED all fun and games?

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

My answer is still: HELL YEAH !!!

I WOULDN’T TRADE THIS PART OF MY LIFE AND GO BACK TO WORKING FOR NOTHIN’ !

Besides, I do have a job even though I am retired.

It is called……..writing a novel.

Which I MUST SOON get back to doing!

With All Of My Deepest Respect And Greatest Love For All Of You…….
Your Dearest One for All Time……..
