Easter 「あぜりあ」本八幡・西船橋・津田沼・佐倉
Hello everyone.
It was Easter recently. I know that most Japanese people don`t celebrate Easter so I thought that I would share some information about the holiday.
In the UK (I`m from England) we celebrate Easter with a 4 day holiday beginning with Easter Friday and ending with Easter Monday. Easter is a Christian holiday. However unlike Christmas, the Easter holiday dates are not fixed. The holiday always runs from Friday to Monday at the end of March or during April but the dates change from one year to the next.
Throughout Easter people decorate eggs and children take part in Easter egg hunts in which candies are hidden and they have to find them. We had Easter egg hunts in our kid’s classes at Azalea and they were lots of fun!
The main Easter day is Sunday. In some households children receive candy and chocolate eggs on Easter Sunday morning. These candies often come in baskets and are delivered by the Easter Bunny. Later in the day, families traditionally gather for a dinner of roast lamb for Easter dinner.
I hope that helps you understand more about the Easter holiday.
Have a nice day.
