BLOG: # 53: IS IT SPRING YET?

About The Subject Of This Blog……..

I have a Window Cling that is supposed to be exactly there—on my front parlor window that asks that exact question: Is It Spring Yet? But instead, for years now, this Window Cling has been clinging to my yellow colored tile in my bathroom where I can look at it when I am in the bathtub. And that is where I like it. In spite of this fact, The Cling asks me this question on a very much daily basis: Is It Spring Yet?

And after having to wait through an extremely extra long Winter I can finally answer.

YES! YES! YES!

HAI! HAI! HAI!

After waiting for SO long, even after what the dumb calendars world-wide kept loudly proclaiming since the 20th of March, Hilo, Hawaii’s Spring finally came flying in with all of its warmth and lovely blue skies and weather like we are use to here—-eight days late—on the 28th.

But Spring Is Here! And that’s my main point. It’s here at last! There was a time in my life of course, when I couldn’t stand Spring! To me, Spring meant new beginnings and everything beautiful and it was everything that I was not. But how could I think that? I did though.

BUT THAT IS CHANGING FOR ME. I mean after all, I was born in the Spring. Not to totally give anything away, but if you care to do some research you can go ahead. The year I was born, the beautiful Spring Holiday of Easter, that is Easter Sunday, was on the 17th of April. I was born on the 20th—three days later—- on Wednesday of Easter Week. Now how could I be upset about something so sweet and lovely as that? And yes, my Birthday IS coming. Quickly too, I hasten to add. In three weeks.

However, I am not writing this Blog to talk of my Birthday. This week it is all about Beautiful Spring. I heard a man saying as he walked past my closed apartment door just now: It’s finally not raining. I am not sure why he sounded so upset when he said it, but he was that. I, too, am glad it is finally and at last, not raining. In fact, Your Mary Ann-san is so happy that Spring is finally here, that she would love to go outside and enjoy it by sitting on her front porch to read and enjoy the day and have some lunch. Does Green Bell Pepper stuffed with Tuna mixed with mayonnaise, chopped onion and chopped celery and pickle relish sound good to any of you, perhaps with a slice of cheese on top? (The cheese goes on top of the Tuna mixture if you are having it on toast and not stuffed in the green pepper). That and coffee would be good. Or tea.

OH HAPPY SPRING, YOU HAVE FINALLY COME FOR ALL THE WORLD TO ENJOY!!!

And I have never been so grateful……….

OR so thankful!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!!

Aloha From,
Your Very Sweet And Devoted,
Mary Ann-san
