ジョン・レノンは、イギリスの人気ロックグループ、ビートルズのメンバーだった。ビートルズは、１９６０年代のロックミュージック界をリードした。ビートルズ解散後、ジョンは、世界中の人々に愛と平和のメッセージを送った。彼は、日本人の妻、ヨーコ・オノとともに、さまざまな種類の平和のためのイベントを行った。彼の最もよく知られたヒット曲、「イマジン」の中で、彼は「想像してごらん」「国はない」「殺す理由も、死ぬ理由もない」と書いた。１９８０年１２月、彼は、ニューヨークで、ファンの一人に射殺された。４０歳だった。２０００年、彼の生誕６０年の記念日に、さいたま市に、ジョン・レノン・ミュージアムが開館した。
