ダイアナ妃の突然の死は、世界中の人々にとって衝撃だった。３６歳のダイアナ妃は、パリで自動車事故で亡くなった。ダイアナ妃は、常に、カメラマンたちの標的だった。この事故は、ダイアナ妃がパパラッチと呼ばれるカメラマン達に追いかけられている時に、トンネルの中で起きた。ダイアナ妃は、イギリス王室の一員として、また、チャールズ皇太子との離婚の後も、病気の人や貧しい人のために働いた。ダイアナ妃の葬儀で、トニー・ブレア首相は、「ダイアナ妃は、人々の妃だった」と述べた。
