A WRITER’S LIFE !!! 「あぜりあ」本八幡・西船橋・津田沼・佐倉
TO ALL MY FANS IN JAPAN !!!
It feels like it has been so long since I have written to you all. It is not true of course because it has only been a week. But it has been a l-o-n-g week and I have missed all of you tremendously.
So I am glad to be here writing to and for all of you again this week. I hope you enjoy my Blog!
BLOG: #56: A WRITER’S LIFE !!!
Oh yes! It’s me! Your Mary Ann-san, and usually I do not brag. I have said this before that I do not like people who brag. So I will say this and hope I am not being boastful. Yesterday, the 20th of April, was my Birthday and this weekend is my Birthday Weekend. But I am not going to sit here while drinking my coffee and tell you all that for my Birthday I did this and I did that because to be honest, I did not.
I did not go anywhere yesterday for my Birthday. I stayed home. I am not sure what I am doing for my Birthday Weekend but yesterday, I did nothing. As in nothing special. Even the small meals I had were nothing big and not very special. Just ordinary. Now please, I am NOT telling all of you this so you will feel sorry for me. Oh no!! That is NOT the point of this Blog. Besides, I did get two presents. One from a friend of mine and one from my CAT.
Yesterday my phone was out of order and so I spent the day alone. But THAT is not the point either.
The point of this Blog is that I spent my entire day and night too, actually, doing something I love! WRITING. Working on my (2nd) novel.
Now if you do not know and have not been able to guess this already, a Writer’s Life is totally different from everyone else’s. And, oh yes, I can hear you right now, all of you from right here. Being a Writer must be a blast! You can do it anytime you want and you can make your own hours. You can start when you want and quit when you want and take breaks whenever you want.
Oh, it can be that way. But, so sorry to disappoint! Most of the time it is not like that at all. Especially on the days when you get Writer’s Block which is when you can go for days at a time sometimes, without writing a single word on a sheet of paper when you are working on a story. Fortunately for me though, yesterday was not one of those times and my writing day went well. But also, as a writer, I spend a lot of time alone. A Writer’s world is like that. Spent with their characters when writing a story. Their story is their world. It is my plan to go back to working on my 2nd novel a bit later today—right after I finish my Blog and have some Lunch. And put out something to make for my Supper also. Then I can get to work on it.
Yes, that’s right I said the “W” word. WORK. That’s because that is what Writing is. Especially when you are writing a novel or in Journalism. Writing is work. If you are writing a novel especially or even a short story, DO NOT let anyone tell you that you are not working and do not have a job. That is because writing IS work and it IS a job. So, yes, I am retired (thank goodness!) but I do have a job that I come to do every day. I work on my novel. True. My novels have not been published yet. But I am published there in Japan thanks to all of you because of my Blogs. And for this I am VERY, VERY, VERY, thankful!! And grateful!!
And I am also VERY, VERY, VERY, glad that you are all a part of my Writing Life! Thank you for being so!
I LOVE YOU ALL! EVERY ONE OF YOU!
With My Deepest Aloha,
Your Beloved Friend,
