MLB：初心者英会話(英会話 あぜりあ 船橋・西船橋・津田沼・佐倉）

Hello again. The baseball season in coming down to the wire for the Boston Red Sox. As I write this, they are currently two games ahead of the Baltimore Orioles for first place in the Eastern Division of the American League. It’s the last season for David Ortiz, who will be retiring after this year. There is a special desire to make the play-offs in order to give him a good send-off. He has been having a fantastic year, by the way. And he’s not the only one on the team. Just yesterday Hanley Ramirez hit a walk-off home run against the New York Yankees, adding an exclamation point to a solid year at the plate. Other position players such as Mookie Betts and Xander Bogaerts have both had all-star years. The regular season still has 16 games left, though, and it will take a strong finish to beat out the Orioles and the Toronto Blue Jays for number one in the division. The Red Sox are the team I really care about, but it’s also been exciting to see what a great year the Chicago Cubs have been having. I’ll talk about them next time.
