professional golf tournament:英会話「あぜりあ」本八幡・西船橋・津田沼

Hi again. This weekend I’m going to see a professional golf tournament in Chiba at Sodegaura Country Club. It’s the first time for me to see a professional golf tournament, so I’m really looking forward to it. It’s the Bridgestone Open, which I think is held every year at a different course. I think most of the top Japanese players will be there, as well as two Americans who play on the PGA tour. Their names are Brandt Snedeker and Bryson DeChambeau, and while they’re not the creme de la creme of the tour, like such players as Jordan Speith or Jason Day or Dustin Johnson, they should still be pretty good. I don’t mention Tiger Woods because he’s been out of the game for over a year and isn’t really the same Tiger Woods we’re used to seeing dominate golf tournaments in the past when the competition just wasn’t anywhere near his level. I’ve been thinking about the best way to watch golf live, whether it’s better to just camp in one place and watch all the players play the same hole, or follow a group around and see the entire course. We’ll probably end up doing a little bit of both. The only downside is the tournament play starts at 7 in the morning, which is a little early for me. I might try to make it there by 8, but it’s the final day of the tournament, so it should be pretty crowded. There is also a dress code, and I’m hoping sneakers are ok.
