# 172 : UNEXPECTED PRAYERS …

Some time ago, back on The Ides Of March — that is on the 15th of March, 2020, when I was still writing my Blogs in my apartment at Puueo Villas on Ohai Street and not here at Legacy Hilo on Kaumana Drive, I wrote a Blog — # 159 — titled : Praying For One’s Enemies — and I thought it would probably be the only one with regard to prayer and praying because I feel that prayer and praying to Almighty God in His Beautiful Heaven is a most sacred privilege.

And I feel honored when I am chosen to do something I do not truly want to do and that is to pray for someone whom I do not really care for and whom I feel I could do without in my life.

When “Redberry” (not his real name), first came to Legacy, I knew there was just something about him I found I didn’t like even though he was a Certified Nurse Aide (C.N.A.) There was just something……

The first thing that “Redberry” managed to do was misplace his Nurses Aide Bag that he had to have with him at all times and “Redberry” looked everywhere for it, including everywhere in my room, and still did not find the overly elusive and vital bag.

I was worried for “Redberry” at that time when he went home from his job without it.

The following morning and afternoon I commented about the missing bag to my C.N.A.’s of the day in the hope it would be found and it would be then returned to “Redberry”.

It was later that afternoon when my favorite C.N.A. “Jewel” (not her real name), after only a few moments of searching, found the missing black. It was indeed in my room, hidden deeply within the heavy blankets and sheets near the end of my bed.

Both “Jewel” and I were thrilled.

We left the bag on my table and waited for “Redberry” to come for it.

It was two more days before he came and found the bag waiting for him.

This part of the story happened so long ago that I hardly recall whether “Redberry” said thank you or not. He probably did adding that he had been looking everywhere for the bag.

I am so glad it was found.

PART TWO OF THIS NEXT TIME.

Mary Ann-san
